Your fridge seals could be costing you money in electricity consumption! In fact you can get your money back on your new fridge seals in as little as six months due to the energy savings from replacing the fridge seals on a domestic refrigerator. Fridge seals are the most common cause for the build up of ice as condensation is expelled from the fridge when the motor cycles off. Old fridge seals also reduce the life of fresh fruit and vegetables due to incorrect humidity and temperature control.

Fridge Seals should be replaced every 7 to 10 years as the magnet inside the fridge seal (that keeps the door shut tight) looses efficiency after this time, and the fridge seal rubber hardens. and in addition to this the fridge motor is being over worked, reducing its life and resulting in an increased electricity bill. Be Observant. Before making a call to Ace Appliance Services make note of when the problem occurs. For example, whether the dishwasher is noisy during the wash or pump out cycle, or if the appliance has been moved recently, did the noise only occur after the move.

Do not dismantle the appliance yourself. It makes it harder to diagnose a problem if an appliance has already been disassembled. In most cases, the appliance will have to be reassembled before a service technician can determine the problem. Also by disassembling the appliance you may void any existing warranties.

Please inform the service technician of any previous service or failed service attempts. This can make diagnosing the problem a lot faster and in some cases cheaper.

Installation: when building-in an appliance, make sure it can be removed easily for service. Flexible hook-ups for dishwashers and gas ranges can make repair jobs less labour intensive. Also, leave extra electric cable when installing electric wall ovens and cook tops. This will minimize the time the technician spends on the job and reduce the cost to you.

When requesting service for a refrigeration product (refrigerator, freezer), ask if the appliance should be left plugged in and running. In most cases it is required. Sometimes, however, this will cause further damage and should be avoided.
